The Bible tells us that when two or three are gathered together in Jesus name, He is there with us (Matthew 18:20).
We know there is much going on in the lives of those all around us. It is a privilege to pray for each other as the things of life come and go. Big things, small things, anything.
Many people only think to pray when things are difficult, and set God to the side when all is well. How much they miss! While it's often easy to sit and talk about the things we are going through, as believers, we are called to go to God first.
Two or Three encourages you to find a friend or two who would be willing to join you at a set time each week simply to pray. Not to talk, just to pray. You will hear the needs of the other as you each talk to God.
Don't forget to keep a journal as you pray, and include praise to the Lord for the answers He gives.
God, our good Father, is faithful to hear the prayers of His children, and He loves you more than you know.
SUGGESTED DIRECTIONS
AREA OF INTEREST: prayer, friendship, encouragement, consistency ACTION: begin a consistent, committed, weekly time of prayer with one or two others (an hour, a half hour, or whatever you are able to arrange). This prayer time could include:
a few short minutes of greeting/a vast majority of time in prayer
praying for family, personal needs, relationships, etc.
a few minutes of silent time to listen to God in the stillness
a change of perspective as you obey God's leading
WHO: this project is for two or three individuals. CONNECTION: contact a friend or two to see if there is interest and commitment. INTERACTION: in your obedience to pray, watch together to see how the Lord works in your requests.
** This prayer time could be done in person, or over the phone/video call. ** This idea is meant to be done on a consistent weekly schedule. It is understood that emergencies come up, but strive to remain on track!
